You will play an important role in DNA Foundry team at DTU in Lyngby, Copenhagen where you will contribute to our quest for developing a new and ground-breaking strain engineering platform. You will be surrounded by top class Scientists from all over the world and be working with the latest technologies and equipment. 

Key supporter to senior staff and operational focal point
As Lab Technician you can look forward to a very varied job where your personal efforts are key enablers for your colleagues’ work. You will assist senior staff with broad-spectrum of tasks related to our operations and the development of the new strain engineering platform. Your tasks will include to:

  • Operate and maintain various foundry equipment
  • Prepare DNA and RNA libraries, QC samples using fragment analyser or bioanalyzer
  • Operate MiSeq and NextSeq instruments
  • Follow and execute various molecular biology protocols e.g. PCRs, plasmid construction, DNA assembly, genome editing
  • Handle our log of all our instrument maintenance schedules
  • Prepare reagents, media and buffers
  • Order reagents, labware and inventory maintenance

As part of the team you will contribute to quality and reliable operations and development of novel methods and technologies.

Lab experience from handling various molecular biology tools

We are looking for a candidate who as an education as Lab Technician with hands on experience in working with several molecular biology tools including PCRs, plasmid construction, DNA and RNA extraction, CRISPR-Cas9 and lambda-red recombination and different strain types. In addition, we expect you to have the experience in the following:

  • Experience in preparing NGS libraries
  • Experience in operating illumina sequencing platforms
  • Experience in NGS library preparation methods using automation.
  • Experience in handling high throughput workflows and handling data in a digital format.

Salary and terms of employment
Salary and employment conditions based on the OAO-S joint agreement and association agreement for office workers, laboratory technicians and IT staff (HK/Stat) signed with the Danish Ministry of Finance.
